Putin: Russian economy leaving pandemic troubles behind

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 3 (PRIME) -- The Russian economy is leaving behind the difficulties after the pandemic, President Vladimir Putin said at a ceremony for the signing of investment agreements at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday.

"Russia has managed to defeat the difficulties that the world faced last year. And our economy has left behind the tough situation that we all faced," Putin said, adding that he would address the issue more in detail in his speech on Friday.

Putin also said that Russia will do its best to support business.

"I want to thank you for this work and express hope that we will not only confidently solve the tough situation that the entire world has faced… but no doubt, taking into account today's advancements that we are witnessing, we will reach new frontiers… The government has and will do everything in order to support you," he said.
